Conrad's 1st Baptism :)

I finally got some pics from Conrad this past Monday, yay! There aren't very many but i'm very happy with what I received :) Conrad baptized this 9 yr. old little girl on Sunday. He says it all went very well and they hope that eventually the rest of the family comes around. Even though Conrad has been transfere to Villa Montoro and with a new companion (Elder Oliver), he says they still teach about 20-25 lessons a week, which is great! The area is more poor and alot more humble, Conrad really loves his new area :)

Monday afternoon I also received a letter (yes, a REAL one!) in the mail :) I was so excited when I saw that it finally came, he sent it a month ago, haha :) I can always tell his letters from all the others, it has his scribbly writing on it with stickers all over the back, haha, i love it :) This time I was lucky enough to get something other than a letter.....Conrad bought me this awesome wooden bracelet! I love it, I wear it everyday! :) Conrad says he bought it off a kid who was selling them at McDonalds, it was 2 pesos, which is 66 cents in American money :) So Conrad warned me to be VERY fragile with it because people in Argentina treat everything like glass because it's all so cheap, lol. But I couldn't be happier, I love anything I get from that boy! And besides, it came all the way from Argentina :)

Nothing Like the Weekends :)

I had a busy/fun weekend!! I had the fun opportunity to go visit Nikki and Doug on Friday and even though we ran some errands and just hung out....I Loved every bit of it!!! I've really missed Nikki, I see her every so often but we don't get to play very often so i've really missed her! Nikki has been my best friend since 9th grade and has been there with me through it all!! I don't know what I did to deserve her but she is absolutely amazing and I am so grateful for everything she does for me! Nikki and Doug help me get through the hard times...whether it be friends/school/or Conrad being gone they are always there and I don't know how I could thank them enough, I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Friday night we went to their old place (pictured above) so they could show me how it looked empty (they moved last weekend and they LOVE it!). Then we went to Target to get a broom, mop, and a trash can for the Kitchen. But ONLY those 3 things and nothing else! (They have a tendancy to buy more than they come for when it comes to Target and Walmart so they set a goal for themselves and hey I must say..it worked! But who DOESN'T buy more than what they intended to at any store??) After playing at Target and drooling over all the things we wanted but couldn't have...we decided to head home and watch a good 'ol movie...nothin' like keepin' it simple, gotta love it!: )

Here's my wedding dress I picked out while at Target...Do you think Conrad will like it?? I'll add some sleeves for modesty :)

Saturday night I got to hang out with Jaimee, Krissy, and my cousin Clint! We went to Outback (Jaimee had a gift certificate, yippee!) and then headed to see the movie 27 Dresses....it was such a cute movie, I loved it! There were a few not nice words...but for the most part I would say it was pretty decent! And the ending was the best part...that guy has some good pick up lines, lol :)

My Saturday Project

Ok so I thought i'd post a picture of the project i've been working on the past two saturdays. (Because i'm a little proud of myself :) My mom and I have been wanting to get some old western looking frames to post some pictures of us kids in and this is what we decided to do! Last Saturday my mom and I went to the Swap Meet (coolest place ever) and bought these hand made wooden frames for cheap! However they were a weird green color. So we went and bought some red spray paint and sand paper and that's what i've been doing that past two saturdays! It's very simple, obviously, I just spray painted it with two coats and then sanded them down to look old and worn, they look so cool.....I love them! Here's the pics we'll be placing in them..... we cant't decided between these two....

I Changed My Mind!!

Ok everyone, so I have officially decided that I don't want to grow up to be a Dental Hygienist anymore!! I know, crazy! Things were just getting too complicated with school and I was getting flustered. I never felt quite comfortable with the idea of being a Dental Hygienist. I didn't know why, I just didn't. It felt like it wasn't right. Especially when thinking about the competition of getting into school. The much wasted money on taking classes over and over and the much wasted time of getting into Hygiene school, just WAITING to have your name called. Not to mention Hygiene school is a rip off, it's $1800 just to buy tools, that's not even your tuition, JUST tools! So I have always been thinking, "What else could I do that would have good hours for my future family that I could get a degree in?". Getting a degree is so SO important to me. Our prophet has counciled us women that it is very important to go to college and get a degree in SOMETHING...even though we are preparing to be mothers, who knows what could happen in the future? What if something were to happen to Conrad and he couldn't work anymore so then I had to work? And even the times when Conrad will be working, I want a job that I can be able to be home with my kids after they get home from school. So after going in continuous circles of what to be when I grow up and having many break downs of tears with my mother.......(thank goodness for mothers, what would I do without mine?) My mom gave me this idea of being an Elementary teacher.....as soon as she said it I felt a spark of light and happiness inside of me. I took into consideration what my mom said and went and spoke to a counselor at the college. After speaking with a counselor I felt even better! I decided... this is what i'm going to be when I grow up!! All the feelings of doubt and frustration were gone when I thought about school and my future as an Elementary teacher. I am so so happy with this decision! I even talked to Conrad about it and asked him what he thinks....he said he feels really good about it and wants me to look into it....so YAY! I have a couple more semesters of school left to go and then i'll have my associates, after that i'm going to a 2 year college to get my Bachelors. I'm not quite sure what grade I should teach yet...but I have time to figure that out...but i'm up for suggestions! :)

Conrad in Villa Montoro :)

Ok so YAY, I got an email today!! Great news everyone, Conrad is performing his first baptism on Sunday!! I am so excited for him! He is baptizing a 9 year old girl who is the only one that is going to be a member in her family. She has read the Book of Mormon 3 times in the past 3 weeks! CRAZY! (I don't know if I could do that if my life depended on it, well....maybe I could, not so sure lol ) SO pretty much this little girl is amazing! Conrad thinks that she will eventually get her family to convert also :) Conrad absolutely loves his new area, he says the people are alot more humble (it's a poorer area) and respect religion alot more. Conrad and his comp, Elder Oliver, are really getting along good and work great together as a team. That's really all the big news from this week and no I didn't get any pictures but he promised me some for next week, so everyone cross their fingers! He said he was going to a theme park today for kids (since it was his pday) so hopefully we'll get some pictures of that!

Go Argentina!!!

Here I am sporting my favorite shirt! GO ARGENTINA!!!! So here's the update on Conrad as of last Monday.....He has been transfered!! Crazy isn't it?? I was pretty surprised that he was transfered already (especially since his companion had been there for 6 months already) but I'm so excited for him! He is now in Villa Montoro which is closer to the ocean and his new companion, Elder Oliver, just got put in as Senior Comp. And even more exciting, Conrad's get's to room with another set of companions so he's looking forward to that :) Conrad is keeping pretty busy, he says they teach about 20-25 lessons a week! Well he said he would try to send me some more pictures tomorrow so if I get any I'll be sure to post some!

Sisters on a Saturday Night

Ok so this is a really bad picture just cause we were trying to hurry! But oh well! Jaimee and I went out Saturday night and had so much fun!!! It was nice to just go out and not worry about anything else. We went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and split a pasta, it was something like chicken alfredo with sun dried tomatoes, Mmmm, it was so good! And hey less calories since it was split in half so now I don't feel so guilty :) Ha ha :) After dinner we went and visited our friends the Tiemans and then headed over to my Best friend Nikki's house. Nikki and Doug moved!!! They finally got out of there little basement they were renting and are now living in a condo in Mesa, it's so nice and i'm so so happy for them!! Nikki is pretty happy too :) After visiting, Jaimee and I stopped at DQ on the way home for a tiny treat :) Yep, time to do some running!!

The Weekly Update!

Ok so I feel like I haven't posted anything in forever! So here's a post from this past weekend :) Saturday night was kinda random....I went to one of my old friends, that i grew up with, wedding reception and it was so fun to see people from my original ward! After the reception was over my parents and their friends, Buce and Kim, were going to go out to dinner, my parents always take their Corvette out on their dates so their friends brought their sweet ride, a Mustang Cobra GT 500!! It's so sweet! I wanted to take a picture of it for Conrad so there I was taking pictures of the beautiful car all by itself and Bruce gave me the keys and told me to get in for a picture! Haha, that made my night, I knew that Conrad would like that picture for sure! He would've died if he was there :) HA HA So after having some fun with the Mustang I got in my sorry little Cobalt and drove home :) JK I love my car, it treats me pretty good, maybe someday i'll get a sweet ride like Bruce though, although probably not for a while :) Jaimee and Krissy came over afterwards and we had a PJ party and watched the best movie ever made, The Notebook! Conrad gave that movie to me for Valentines day 2 years ago, so of course I'm thinking about him the ENTIRE time, but hey, when am I NOT thinking about him? Hmmm, not sure that's ever. Well hope you like the pics from this week!

Conrad in Argentina!

Okay so I FINALLY got some pics from Conrad!! I was so excited when he emailed them to me. Apparently he couldn't get it to work before, but now it is so, hey that's good with me! Conrad is really enjoying Argentina and he LOVES the people there. He is doing pretty good at speaking and understanding the language, he's not at the level he would like to be yet, but he is deffinately making progress:) Conrad has a new comp, Elder Jernigan. He's from Sedona, AZ! And to make things even better, Conrad says the guy is hilarious so he absolutely loves him! Obviously from the looks of things, they're getting along pretty good! I got a letter from Conrad yesterday in the mail, YES in the MAIL, an ACTUAL letter! I was so excited! It's funny cause Conrad told me he sent that about a month ago, haha, but hey at

least I received it! He talks about the funniest things....they don't have peanut butter, marshmellows, rootbeer, Ranch dressing, microwavable meals and all sorts of other things. One of Conrad's favorite things about the country is something called a baday, lol, not sure if I should go into too much detail about that one but it pretty much is another toilet next to the toilet you use and it sprays your bumm to clean the poo off, YUCK! HAHA, and the funny part is that Conrad thinks this is the greatest invention ever and wants one in our house! Ha, NO WAY :) My mom was reading his letter, she was laughing hard already anyway, but once she got to that part she was laughing histerically! It was a funny sight :) Another thing he told me is that soda is sold in big glass bottles down there and it's only 40 cents, plus they have the greatest helado around (ice cream) oh, AND he LOVES their bread! Uh oh, yep....you guessed it.....Conrad's gaining weight!! Ha ha, he said not to worry cause he's cut back alot on eating all of those fun things, however he did say that if he gets fat then I can get fat so hey we're all good! Just kidding, not to worry :) Conrad and his comp tought 20 lessons last week and had about 8 investigators come to church, isn't that great?! He said it was a really good week, and to make it even better.....his first baptism is February 8th! He is an older man who is a grounds keeper for the church and absolutely loves his family. Conrad absolutely loves this man and is so excited to bring him closer to the Gospel. Well there is a quick summary of my boy! I'm so proud of him, he's doing an amazing job and the people of Argentina love him!

Busy Busy Busy!!

It has been busy busy the last couple weeks! I had no work from Dec. 22nd until Jan. 2nd and I loved every bit of my vacation! I didn't go anywhere, just hung out at home with my family and spent time with friends...but oh boy it was nice. I Love all of these girls SOOO much! They sure do make the time fly by and make Conrad being gone a little easier. They do so much for me and I appreciate all the times they listen to me cry or go on and on about how wonderful Conrad is, haha :) Jaimee is just like a sister to me and I love that girl like crazy! She's always making me laugh and being around her and her family makes me feel so much closer to Conrad, they mean the world to me! Krissy is the new comber to our group (Jaimee and Conrad's cousin) and I absolutely love that girl, she is a party animal for sure! I'm so glad that she is stayin for a while because we all sure do love having her around! Jill has been sick for about a week now but I feel like I haven't seen her forever and I miss her! So this weekend we are all partying for sure! :) Ashley, I love that girl too, I don't see her enough with how crazy both of our lives are but I sure do love it when she comes to goof off with all of us :)We've all had so many good times together and I know that these girls would do anything for me, just like I would do for them. Well most of these pics are just from us goofing off during the weekend or new years eve....but hey they're fun to look at!

This past week was my dad's 47th birthday, Auriel Thompson (Udall) reception, and we went up to my grandmad Allen's house in Taylor! So it's been a pretty busy week! For my dad's bday we went to Cheesecake Factory (yummmm), I appreciate everything my dad does for me. He is so supportive and man is he a funny guy! I love that my dad has given me a sense of humor, cause without him I don't know how i'd handle all the teasing I get with Conrad being gone from my boss and relatives. Haha.

Auriels reception was so beautiful! It was so weird seeing her in a wedding dress, that's for sure. But it sure was beautiful and I am SO happy for her and Dustin :)

Well up at my grandma's we just went to visit for the weekend. While we were there I took lot's of fun pictures and gathered recipes from my grandma to start adding to my recipe book collection! And oh man is it COLD up there! It snowed on the way up but it was windy the entire time we were in Taylor, yuck, cold wind.... But I sure did enjoy it for a change. Although I have to say I missed hanging with the girls for the weekend because after coming home Sunday night it felt like I didn't have a weekend at all! So i'm deffinately looking forward to this weekend!!
